Three Steals for the 2018 NBA Draft

The 2018 NBA draft is upon us and each year the question is asked who could possibly be a steal in the draft. Players drop for one reason or another and here are three players who I think could be huge steals for NBA teams this draft.

1. Landry Shamet- SG 6'5  SO.

Shamet has been a two year player for the Wichita State Shockers. He has the ideal size for the two guard position at 6'5 and shot 44% from three this past season. Shamet averaged 15 points per game and added 5 assists as well. He also has great length and with all teams needing as much shooting as possible to be competitive, and could be a key contributor early for the Sixers. He could potentially take J.J. Reddick's spot with him heading into free agency this summer. If Shamet bring his shooting ability from college to the NBA then he is in the perfect situation in Philly.

2. Kevin Knox- SF/PF 6'9 FR.

Kevin Knox was Kentucky's best scorer. He is a 6'9 freshman who came in with big expectations. Knox played out of position at Kentucky, and still averaged 15 points and five rebounds. Knox will benefit in the NBA from spacing and can get his shot off at anytime. With the Knicks he will get every opportunity to shine. With Porzingas injured Knox can show that he could be the next big star in the Big Apple. Knox has great defensive potential and can guard multiple positions as well. With David Fizdale as coach and a new attitude in New York, Knox and Porzingas could be a problem in the future.

3. Chandler Hutchison- SG/SF 6'7 SR.

Hutchinson was one of the few seniors in this year's NBA Draft. He is 6'7 and can play both wing positions. Hutchinson averaged 20 points and six rebounds this past year. A small school product who can play in the Kyle Kuzma like role. He has terrific length and is seasoned so he understands the game and is a bonafide scorer. With Chicago drafting Wendell Carter Jr. earlier and adding Hutchison this could be a nice core for the future. He will surprise some people and could potentially be a star very early in his career. He will be a name to know this upcoming season.

The Impact That This Summers Free Agent Class can Have on the NBA

The off season in the NBA can be one of the most wild and exciting times for sports fans. Big name players such as LeBron James and MVP Finals winner Kevin Durant have the power to change teams and conferences, potentially shifting the balance of power in the NBA. Fans anticipate this time of year hugely, perhaps even more than some playoff games. Not only are big name players free agents, but this years crop of restricted free agents is one of the best its been in years. This years class has impact players such as Marcus Smart. Clint Capela, Aaron Gordon and Julius Randle, just to name a few. These players have established great credibility and are looking to earn big pay days like the rest of the free agent class. Could a team like Indiana or Utah look at one of these players and feel they could build on the momentum last years playoff runs gave them and be serious contenders in 2019. Lottery teams like Brooklyn or Phoenix may try to get a big name to make there games more a...

Would Chris Paul Really Consider Leaving Houston?

With Chris Paul becoming an unrestricted free agent, he's one of many stars that will hit the open market at midnight on July 1st. After finishing his first season in Houston after being dealt from the Los Angeles Clippers last summer, Paul could potentially be joining his fourth different team for his 14th season in the NBA. Paul has been vocal about his intentions to re-sign with the Rockets for another run at a title, however. In CP3's first season in H-Town, the Rockets took the defending champion Golden State Warriors to seven games in the Western Conference Finals before being outed after holding a 3-2 series lead. Some might argue that by now the Rockets could be hoisting their first Larry O'Brien trophy since 1995 had Paul not been injured in game five of the conference finals, causing him to miss the final two games of the series. The fact that Houston was one game away from The Finals would ideally be enough to convince the nine time all-star to stay put. ...
